Bookaestate exists to provide privacy. This policy describes how we collect, hold, and protect information from people who contact us or use our website.

What we collect

When you submit an enquiry form, we collect the name, contact details, referral information (if any), and the contents of your enquiry as you have shared them with us. We may also collect technical information about your visit to our website, including IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, for security and analytics purposes.

How we use it

We use the information you provide solely to review your enquiry, communicate with you about your request, and if appropriate, arrange a private stay or occasion. Technical information is used to maintain the security and functioning of our website. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Who sees it

Your enquiry is reviewed personally by the Chief Curator and a small curation team. Information is not shared outside this team except where operationally necessary to fulfil a stay you have requested, and only then with your awareness.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not proceed to a stay are kept for up to twenty-four months, after which they are deleted. For approved members, we retain relevant information for the duration of the relationship and up to seven years following, in line with applicable record-keeping requirements.

Your rights

You may at any time request to see what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Write to privacy@bookaestate.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Cookies and tracking

This website uses only essential cookies for basic functionality (for example, remembering your day or night mode preference and your referral code during a session). We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that profile individual visitors.

Form submissions

Enquiry and newsletter forms are processed through Netlify’s form handling service. Your submission is stored temporarily on Netlify’s servers and forwarded to our internal email. Netlify’s own privacy policy applies to this processing.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted communication (HTTPS on every page), limited internal access, and secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply the standards appropriate to the clientele we serve.
